Usage
Starts working just by the plugin activation. Opens linked images in a popup Lightbox by click. Adds arrow navigation, if an image is a part of a gallery or other links sequence.
Development
You can modify the code for your needs, or suggest improvemens on GitHub. It is pretty transparent and well-commented.

Here is a positive review to boost your motivation, dear developer ;)It’s the simplest lightbox for images that I use on all my clients‘ websites, which are something about 10. Its standout feature is its unobtrusiveness: it doesn’t affect loading speed, doesn’t conflict with caching plugins – it’s as simple as a bolt – robust and effective.However, I would like it to have zoom functionality and the ability to customize its design in some future.

For me lightweight means (no jquery) and this plugin checks all the boxes for my requirement.
I never wanted a bloated lightbox plugin which adds tons of options and customization features adding un-necessary CSS and JS. Here I just get the lightbox feature with minimal CSS adding no extra bloat to the website.
Best part is NO JQEURY and I hope it remains this way.
